The Welland Canal Walking Tour takes you on a stroll from Locks 4 to 7 at the heart of the Welland Canal. You'll be able to walk alongside the Canal and take in the engineering marvel that allows for ships to descend and ascend the Niagara Escarpment.
You'll have an opportunity to learn about the historic impact of the Welland Canals, and view of the canal at various stopping points. Along the route is the St. Catharines Museum, which features a permanent exhibit dedicated to the history of the Welland Canal, as well as a superb vantage point of canal infrastructure at the Lock 7 Viewing Centre. Take a walk alongside the Welland Canal and experience how the canal is constructed. It's also likely that you will be able to get a close-up view of the canal traffic, from modest recreational watercraft to massive lakers, freighters, and other commercial craft which ply the waterway.
