Welcome to the Playground Tour of Niagara!
"Play" takes on many different forms and expressions. This tour explores this concept through local playgrounds and the heritage which surrounds them. You will be guided through 5 different play structures in the Niagara region and discover the historical and ecological elements of each location. Your time at each site will be enriched by the heritage encompassing it. Get ready to experience this unique interpretation of "play"!
We will be visiting the following sites:
A tropical-themed playground located in South Niagara Falls and next to the historical Welland River and Hydro Canal!
A newly developed play structure in Thorold near the breath-taking Niagara Escarpment and the Battle of Beaverdams Park!
A cabin-themed playground nestled into the heart of the Merritton community!
Lester B. Pearson Park Playground
An entire recreation facility located next to the Kiwanis Aquatic Centre and built close to the remnants of the third Welland Canal!
A modern themed playground located near the historical towns of Virgil and Niagara-on-the-Lake!
