The photo of the white brick building depicts the Hotel Victoria Inn in 1954. Owned by Terry and Mary Kosloff, the Inn advertised "five minutes from the Falls and the Summer Theatre" which was held at NFCVI during the early 1950's.
From 1964 to 2014, this building was home to Jade Garden Restaurant. Since then it was occupied by Chilli and Chinese Restaurant (2015-2021). In 2021, La Sultana Lounge took over the premises. Originally billed as 'Ontario's Finest Hookah Lounge', it was listed as 'permanently closed' by 2023.
La Sultana Lounge was succeeded by The Hakka Station in 2023, a restaurant specializing in Hakka Chinese and Indian cuisine.
Fun fact: in many parts of South Asia, Indians and Pakistanis are known for making local adaptation of original Hakka dishes. This variation of Hakka cuisine is in reality, mostly Indian Chinese cuisine and Pakistani Chinese cuisine. It is called "Hakka cuisine" because, in India and areas of Pakistan, many owners of restaurants who serve this cuisine are of Hakka origin.
