JH x47 34 Montagu Square W1H 1TL

Ringo Starr bought the ground floor and basement accommodation of 34 Montagu Square in 1965 but barely used it before getting married and moving out to the country. He leased it to a number of friends over the next couple of years, including both Paul McCartney and John Lennon.

Jimi and Kathy Etchingham moved in here on 6 December 1966 and moved out on 21 March 1967. Jimi and Kathy had the basement and Chas Chandler and girlfriend Lotta occupied the ground floor. The basement was later used for the photo-shoot for John and Yoko's controversial Two Virgins cover.

Sadly, the nearby road sign for Montagu Place is no longer on the railings in front of the Swedish Embassy.
