Burapha University is a large university spread out over a large area. Over the main campus, there are many food options for people to eat. Students who live in dormitories use the restaurants and food options around the campus the most, but those who have full day of classes and do not live in dormitories also use these restaurants often.

General Information

Located in the centre of the main university campus is a small outdoor food court with 3 small restaurants. Each restaurant serves different foods and snacks. These 3 restaurants are called: Pa Jaew, Coffee Cat, and Fotoscout. In front of the restaurants is a small court with seating and tables for about 55 people. All seating is outdoor so weather should be considered if choosing to dine here.

Pa Jaew

Pa Jaew is the first restaurant on the left in the court when looking at it from the front. The food available at this restaurant consists of:

  • Rice
  • Vegetables
  • Egg
  • Omelette
  • Chicken
  • Pork

Price starts at 20B

To take away the food rather than dine in the court, there is an additional cost of 5B

The drinks available are:

  • Water
  • Tea
  • Variety of Juices
  • Fanta (3 flavours)
  • Coca-Cola
  • Minute Made Orange Juice

Coffee Cat

Coffee Cat is the middle restaurant in the row of three. This is also the smallest and only provides minimal cooked foods. Instead, they provide many snacks to buy. These snacks include:

  • Sweets/candy
  • Popcorn
  • Potato Crisps
  • Sandwiches
  • Instant noodles
  • Cracker snacks
  • Pastries
  • Jelly
  • Ice Cream

Drink options are:

  • Milk
  • Tea
  • Water

This restaurant is the last of the three and the furthest away from the road and sidewalk. This restaurant has hot food options such as:

  • Chicken
  • Duck
  • Vegetables
  • Egg
  • Rice

The cost for a meal from this restaurant is approximately 30B

Drinks include cold beverages such as:

  • Water
  • Coca-cola
  • Fanta
  • Variety of juices and teas

Environmental Significance

These three restaurants are unique in that they are positioned outside in a small food court. This makes them more environmentally friendly than a large food court being built. It helps conserve electricity by not having to run air conditioning units. Because it is outside, cleaning does not have to occur as often thus reducing the amount of bleach and other toxic cleaning supplies that get poured into drains after use. The ground underneath the food court is similar to honeycomb paving- allowing rain to flow into the ground naturally rather than running off or causing a flood.
