This area has been known for its mass amounts of granite mortar and pestles, so many of the pieces are sold throughout the world.

The Ang Sila fish and granite markets are 133 years old and lies along the coasts of Chon Buri. Marked on Google Maps as Ang Sila Market, this market specializes in seafood. Among the tables of dried squid and catfish are fresh sea bass and octopus. There are also mussels and clams. This segment of the market wraps around the coastline in the shape of a semi-circle and follows a soi toward road 3134 before ending.

Adjacent to the fish market is road 3134, lined with granite statues and mortar and pestles. This area has been known for its mass amounts of granite mortar and pestles, so many of the pieces are sold throughout the world. Many statues are bought from here for use at nearby storefronts and shops. They range from millwheels to Hindu gods, and Chinese lucky dragons to painted sculptures of children.

Food here is generally unprepared and intended for the customer to bring home. The few stands and restaurants available along the streets are not part of the granite and fish markets themselves.

Anyone walking by this market may notice the array of colours and not-quite-identical displays of rows of such figures. We noticed there were many things here that we have seen used along the streets. This market is bustling on weekends, and is more popular in the evening hours.

By car: Exit Burapha University across from Laemtong mall and turn right on Long Haad Bangsaen Road. Travel West to Sukhumvit Road and turn left. Going North on Sukhumvit Road for about 3 km, until you see Road 3134. Then turn left and go Northeast until the shore. Follow Road 3134 as it lines the coast and you will see a long dock extending into the ocean. There is parking on the shore.

By song taew: From Laemtong shopping mall in front of Burapha University, get on a red song taew going West on Long Haad Bangsaen Road. This will take you to Nong Mon Market. Buzz the driver and get off here. It will cost approximately 10 baht. From here, go to Sukumvit Road on the same side of the street from where you got off. Hail another song taew headed North toward Chonburi. Ask the driver, "bai Ang Sila mai ka?", then when he nods, you will travel about 9 km to Road 3134. At this point, buzz the driver and exit to find a motorcycle taxi. Tell him "Bai Ang Sila talad saparn pla" to go to the seafood market. Alternatively, walk the distance up Road 3134 along a few kilometres of granite objects lining the street toward the seafood market.

By motorcycle taxi: From the front of Burapha University across from Laemtong, hail a motorcycle taxi and tell him "Bai Ang Sila talad saparn pla." He will then head West to go to Sukumvit Road and continue until Road 3134. This will be a long drive, about 20 minutes in good traffic, so expect to pay around or upwards of 100 baht. Also, hold on tight!
