Introduction

This brewery is not only London history, but a key piece of Canadian history as well. From the tap room, to the brew room, this facility is full of the rich history of Canadian brewing. You can stop by for a fresh pint in the tap room, buy some cold cans to go from the Labatt Beer Store, or book a tour to learn more about what makes Labatt so deep rooted in Canadian history. The London brewery produces over 40% of the beer consumed in Canada, including some of your favourite brands, stop by and see what you can learn!

History

Labatt has been providing for Londoneers for well over a hundred and fifty years now. Labatt used to deliver via horse drawn carriage, and has since evolved to a global opperation. They were among the first in Canada to offer paid vacations and insurance plans, and in the 1940s, they refurbished Tecumseh Park (now Labatt Park) and gifted it back to the city of London. In the 1950s, Labatt was the first brewery to put hand grips on the side of the "double 12 pack cartons" (a 24 pack of beer in todays terms). In the 1960s, Labatt modernized its plants to make them more efficient, making them the most efficient brewery in North America at the time. Over the years, Labatt has donated thousands of pounds of wheat to families during depressions, beer to soldiers overseas during wars, and have made significant contributions shaping Canada's heritage over the past 17 decades. Today, Labatt Brewery (London) is responsible for brewing 40% of the beer consumed by Canadians. This includes the full menus for Labatt, Budweiser, Bud Light, Alexander Keith's and Wildcat. You will never have a fresher beer, closer to the source than in the Labatt Brewery tap room.

The facilities include the tap room open to the public, the Labatt Beer Store, and the brewery which is open for tours as long as you call and book in advance. The tap room is full of relics and artifacts from Labatt's history in London, including several out of commission delivery vehicles, restored back to their primes. The Labatt Beer Store is the place to buy all your Labatt products right from the source, whether that's bottles, cans, shirts, hats, hoodies, koozies, coolers or even a Labatt mini fridge, they've got it all in one easy location. The Brewery Tour will take you through the process from start to finish of what it takes to make Labatt products. This is a unique experience to see on such a large scale, and you'll get the bonus of sampling the products as you go.
