JH x42 Cumberland Hotel Great Cumberland Place W1H 7DL

Jimi checked into rooms 507/8 at the Cumberland on 6 September 1970, but in truth he spent very litde time there over the next 12 days. Had he done so history might have been written differently. His final interview, to old friend Keith Altham from Record Mirror, was given here.

The hotel has been completely renovated in recent years to a very high standard, with a price to match. Thankfully the Cumberland name was retained after some debate to the contrary. Prior to the refit, the main entrance was in Oxford Street. It is now restored to Great Cumberland Place to match the postal address.
