Historical Attributes

Close up sign of the 1917 plaque

The theatre is located inside an old firehall that was built over 100 years ago in 1917. This community theatre is completely run by volunteers and the Niagara Falls Music Theatre Society (NFMTS). The NFMTS was created in 1963 as a non profit, community theatre organization with productions being performed in the NFCVI.

They moved into the Firehall in 1967 and began by using it as a rehearsal and workshop space for one play acts. In 1975, the group began using the space for productions and shows.

This group began renovations on the building to convert it into a completely functional theatre including a box office, cloakroom, and lounge area. They continued to run productions during this time and officially opened the renovated theatre in 1982.
