About the Location

"A long time ago in a city far, far away..."

Take a journey to space and experience UFO's, aliens, and more of the supernatural!

The Flying Saucer Restaurant is one of Niagara's most reputable restaurants due to its commitment to the City of Niagara Falls for many years. Aside from the sci-fi décor, the Flying Saucer is well-known for having the best breakfast in Niagara Falls. Its "down to Earth prices" and its full menu provides visitors of all ages a memorable experience. Not only do locals visit, but tourists also frequent the restaurant after a long day of sight-seeing due to its proximity to the heart of Niagara Falls.

The movie filmed at this location is Disappearance at Clifton Hill (2019) starring Tuppence Middleton and David Cronenberg. This mystery movie leaves viewers curious of a disturbing event that occurred in Niagara many years ago. The memory of a long-ago kidnapping comes flooding back to Abby when she visits her hometown, Niagara Falls. Flying Saucer was used in a scene of the film and the main actress, Middleton, took photographs here to promote the film. The movie trailer and photographs of Middleton inside the Flying Saucer are included on this page.

Historical Attributes

About forty years ago, a young local boy named Henry was interested in all things intergalactic. Henry would often think about the sci-fi movies he had just watched. His boss at the diner would beg him to stop being so imaginary and ask him to get to work. In 1972, Henry's interest in sci-fi and aliens inspired him to create the Flying Saucer drive-in restaurant.

The unique décor and atmosphere of the entire place really set it in motion. In the early 1980s, the restaurant had a dine-in option where people parked their cars and had their food brought to them there. This was especially unique as it was not very common for restaurants in Niagara to do this. The restaurant originally began with one UFO-shaped building, but another one was built later on to accommodate the growing visitors. Henry always wanted to have his own restaurant and was able to turn his hobby into a business.
