Short Hills Provincial Park lacks any formal birding activities like Beamer, but it makes this area all the more a secret. The area is large and quiet, and the hills provide an excellent view to look for birds that may nest high in trees. Being a provincial park, there is a different degree of protection for the park as opposed to sites that are protected locally. Short hills also boasts a connection to the Bruce Trail via Black Walnut Trail. There are plenty of activities that other parks and conservation areas do not provide like horseback riding and mountain biking.

Recreational featues includes: Walking, birding, fishing, mountain biking, and horse back riding

The area has been inhabited up to 8000 years ago.

The area contains snakes, salamanders, coyotes, rare birds, frogs, foxes, and much more.
