Lord Elgin Technical School (later Vocational School) opened in 1957 for public school students. When provincial funding to Catholic high schools increased, the Lord Elgin building was transferred to the Roman Catholic Separate School Board, and the Lord Elgin students transferred to N.F.C.V.I., renamed Niagara Falls Secondary School.
Saint Michael Catholic High School occupied the building for years, before opening a brand new site on McLeod Road.
Today, the site is home to Glengate Alliance Church (formerly Alliance Tabernacle Church on Temperance Avenue).
