In 2002, an exciting exhibit of more than 30 life-size metal moulds filled with hundreds of thousands of plants were set up in the 2-acre property around the Niagara Parks Greenhouse (now Floral Showhouse). The sculptures were originally planted in Montreal, indoors during the winter, and transported by truck to Niagara Falls in the spring. Intensive local labour was required for the project, with a team of 36 staff planting the gardens (and "habitats") around the animal sculptures. They were considered an anchor for the newly-named Spring Festival, formerly the Blossom Festival. For the first time, Niagara Parks started charging for admission to the greenhouse and grounds.
The exhibit, which didn't bring in as many visitors or as much money as expected, closed in the fall the same year.
