Leo, through out his life was involved in the development of the Merrittion area and after the Second World War he became town councillor of Merrittion. Later he was elected as part of St.Catharines city council.
Len (Trapper) Leo never turned away some one in need of help and not a day went by where he didn't offer his help when needed.
So much so during his dinner he would keep the phone on the dinner table, so he wouldn't have to move to far to attend any calls.
Due to his modest and self-less personality he was a very well know man and In recognition of his forever kind deeds the city remembers him by opening Trapper Leo Park in his Honour.
