Ball's Falls is a waterfall located in the historic town of the same name. It provides not just beautiful scenery, but also many historic buildings to visit during your stay, such as a church, a Blackcmith's shop, and an operating flour mill. It is a wonderful place to visit with family and friends. It is also a great place for hikers, bikers, nature lovers, and photographers.
Ball's Falls has an upper and lower Falls. I've visited the lower Ball's Falls. The lower Ball's Falls is a plunge falls, falling 27 m to the bottom of the valley. It is the to visit the falls during spring, after the ice melt from Winter.
One of the events they have annually is the Thanksgiving Craft Market. This event gathers many vendors such as farmer's market, country market, fashion accessories, wine pavilion. This yearly event attracts many people to Ball's Falls, where you can enjoy the local atmosphere while enjoying the beautiful scenery from the waterfall. This fall is also suitable for hikers. It contains many great trails such as the Bruce Trail. Following the Bruce trail you will able to see the lower Ball's Falls and the Centre for Conservation. |
The town of Ball's Falls was established in 19th century by a United Empire Loyalist Jacob Ball. It was sold to in 1962 Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority, and it has known as Ball's Falls since.
Ball's Falls has been restored to its early 1800's historical hamlet atmosphere. There are many buildings such as the church, flour mill, lime kiln, and carriage shed. It also offers a perfect setting for events such as weddings in the Balls Falls Memorial Chapel. The historic barn and the Centre for Conservation can also be rented.
This waterfall is located in the Niagara Escarpment, which is designated to UNESCO world biosphere reserve.
