Queen's Royal Park is a public park located in Niagara-on-the-Lake along the south shore of Lake Ontario.
It is just a short walk away from Queen Street, the principal shopping street in Old Town Niagara-on-the-Lake.
All year round, the park is busy with tourists who intend to visit Niagara-on-the-Lake, so it would be a good place to enjoy a lively atmosphere and a view of the lake.
It has a spacious lawn area with a number of benches and a lookout point.
Along the shoreline is a well-organized clean path with rocks lined up on both sides.
Where the park is located today was originally the site of the Queen's Royal Hotel.
Built in 1868, the Queen's Royal Hotel was "known as one of the best hotels in North America." (Exploring Niagara)
"It was the site of many social gatherings for wealthy tourists from Canada, the United States and abroad." (Exploring Niagara)
The hotel was demolished in 1930 due to a decline in tourism to the town.
The property was then purchased by the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, and the park was built.
Seabirds could be seen in the park.
Squirrels also inhabit the lawn area.
Owned and managed by Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Open at all times: | All seasons |
There is a toll parking lot both on site and near the park.
The park is accessible by wheelchairs.
