The Participark Trail is located right next to the Lower Twelve Mile Creek. Participark trail is along the west bank of the creek from Glendale Avenue to St. Paul Street. The trail is not as famous as some of the other trails in St. Catharines, like the Bruce trail. Not many people know about it, only the people from the area know about it. The trail is relatively quiet and peaceful,
The Participark Trail is 2 kilometers long in total, a loop can be made along the eastern bank of the creek (the Twelve Trail), along a rougher natural terrain path.
Recreational activities such as walking/hiking and biking or motorbiking are the common at the Participark trail, fishing on the bank of the Twelve Mile Creek is another very common recreation activity that the locals will do when they visit the trail. But mostly walking and riding bike.
Although the Participark Trail might not be as well known as some other trails in the Niagara Region, but the trail is actually a section of the Laura Secord Legacy Trail and is near the original route that Laura Secord took along the west bank of the Twelve Mile Creek in 1813.
The Participark Trail was renamed by the St. Catharines City Council in 2012 to celebrate the bicentennial anniversary of Laura Secord's walk.
There are many different plants and trees alongside the Participark Trail, some of the examples are: Burr Oak, Red Oak, Pin Oak, Maple, Ironwood and etc.
The Participark Trail is owned and managed by the City of St. Catharines.
