Then: William Bright House

Formerly the William Bright House. The Canadian Corps Club House Unit 104.

The William Bright house was one of the many grand old residences that once stood on Victoria Avenue. Bright came to Niagara Falls in 1905 to work with the Niagara Falls Wine Company that was founded in 1900 by his father, Thomas G. Bright, and business partner, Francis A. Shirriff. Originally a private residence, the house was later used as the clubhouse for the Canadian Corps Branch 104 from 1940 to 1958. the same time that this photo was taken.

Now: Remingtons of Niagara Restaurant

The grand old home was eventually demolished, and today, Remingtons of Niagara Restaurant occupies the site. In addition to being a premium steak and seafood restaurant, Remingtons prides itself on its singing servers, who serenade patrons as they wait on tables. The restaurant also features a collection of western-themed bronze statues in the style of Frederic Remington, from the famous Jack Daniels estate.
