The Old Fire Hall, located on Albert Street in Thorold is a beautiful redbrick building with a large bell tower located on the front. Many windows line all sides of the building with large arches and large windows surround the building, letting lots of natural light in. In 1964 when the new fire hall was built the tower that sat atop the building was resurrected in front of the new fire hall to pay respects to the old one. The bell that was located in the tower at the front of the building now sits in front of the new fire hall located a few minutes away from here on Towpath Street.
The Old Firehall is now being used by a local clothing designer as a workshop space. The building has had some minor renovations to accomdate such use, but the integrity and history of the building was kept in place to commemorate the histroy of the city.
