JH 07 John Lewis Department Store 300 Oxford Street

On your left is the famous John Lewis department store. It has long been viewed as a purveyor of the latest styles in clothing, home furnishings, and accessories.

In 1968, Jimi Hendrix gave his girlfriend Kathy Etchingham £1,000 in cash - an absolute fortune at the time - to fill their flat at 23 Brook Street with soft furnishings from John Lewis Oxford Street.

You can see the combined influences of Kathy Ethchingham's eclectic taste and the trendsetting styles of the John Lewis department store in the restored Hendrix apartment at Handel and Hendrix House.

Continue walking east along Oxford Street for 230 metres until your reach Regent Street. You will be turning left and heading north on Regent Street.
