JH 05 HMV 363 Oxford Street

On your right is HMV, the second record shop that was frequently visited by Jimi Hendrix. Unlike One Stop Records, HMV is still in business today.

Hendrix purchased many record albums from this location. Today, it stocks some of the iconic titles that Hendrix himself recorded over the course of his brief but incandescent musical career.

Continue walking east along Oxford Street for about 120 metres. You will be crossing over Oxford Street at the intersection of New Bond Street.

"Sarah Bardwell, the museum director, said: "After moving to Brook Street in 1968, Hendrix learned of the Handel connection with the building and headed to One Stop Records in South Molton Street and HMV in Oxford Street to pick up whichever records of Handel music he could find."
