Dedicated in 1949, the new Drummond Branch Library was the first library in Canada to be dedicated by the Governor General of Canada, His Excellency Field Marshall The Right Honourable Viscount Alexander of Tunis. Governor-General Alexander opened and dedicated the city's newest branch. Opening day was May 30th, 1949.
In 1993, the branch closed and was purchased by Morse & Son, who then built the Morse and Son Event Centre, which remains in the location today.
