FN 5-24 Victory at Beaverdams



 


 


 


 

On June 24, 1813, approximately 800 American soldiers were dispatched from Fort George to capture the British outpost at Decew House, a march of more than 30 kilometres.

Lieutenant James Fitzgibbon was stationed there with a small British force. Secord was able to reach Fitzgibbon before the Americans to deliver her warning.

And at Beaver Dams, just over five kilometres from Decew House, 800 American soldiers marched straight into a native ambush.
