The city of Thorold is located in the heart of the Niagara Region, a community steeped in history. Visitors can enjoy many pristine parks and historic memorial parks and on this trip I will give you details of one of Thorold's most famous parks: Memorial Park.
Memorial Park is located in the center of Thorold. In 1919, the Town of Thorold purchased this land from the Board of Trustees of the Public Schools of the Town of Thorold; it was to become a lasting memorial to the Men of Thorold who lost their lives for King and Country during the Great War - 1914 to 1918, and would be known as Memorial Park. Memorial Park is a 3-acre, passive park that has been designated under the Ontario Heritage Act. This quiet spot in the middle of the old town is filled with beautiful, mature trees and is the site of the City's War Memorial.
The park has extensive grassland and broadleaf forests, as well as a variety of shrubs and ornamental flowers and trees. It is very suitable for hiking and wandering with friends and family. The park is very open and quiet, so if you like to read in a quiet place, this is a very good choice.
During this trip, I will introduce you to the history of the park and give you a better understanding of Thorold. In order to make it easy for Chinese-speaking visitors to understand, the entire tour will be navigated and narrated in both Chinese and English, so be sure to turn on the audio for a better travel experience. We will be walking around the interior of the park throughout and hope you will have a wonderful trip.
