Ethical Significance

The authenticity would be a major agrument at a place such as Mini SIam due to the fact that this park holds replications of the major tourist destinations from around the world. The statues clearly are very similar to the real thing but in a quite smaller version however, one may not receive the cultural experience they would most likely get if they were to visit the orginal landmark.

General Information

Mini Siam and Mini Europe has a long history being a popular attraction among Pattaya visitors. Mini Siam first started as a research project in 1985, and then in 1986 Mini Siam and Mini Europe were created separately over 11.4 acres. The remaining area of the small attraction includes, Booking Halls, Souvenir Shops, and a Parking Lots. This small-scale attraction was created with the idea to gather and incorporate the architectural wonders from across the world, along with, the arts and culture of each landmark. Mini Siam is now composed of over 100 miniature exhibits, each representing a famous landmark from around the world. The first model to be built was The Democracy Monument, the original of which can be found in Bangkok. Then the rest came along. The sculptures are all at an impressive 1:25th scale, and are very beautiful replicas, some examples can include: lady liberty (New York), the Trevi fountain (Rome), and the Sydney Opera House (Sydney). Mini Siam and Mini Europe are very interesting, especially if you have not had the chance to visit the original. This small park is well maintained and quite quaint, and most visitors will be drawn to this attraction. Of course, looking at replicas of other places is not a particularly authentic experience, but spending a couple hours here enjoying miniature versions of the wonders that the world has to offer is a real treat.

Personal Experience Good and Bad

Good - I went during the day and the park was very quite which was really nice and I had no problem taking any photos of anything I wished too since there was a lack of people in the park at the time. I thought the park was very well maintained and super interesting that they were able to create monuments that were nearly identical to the real ones. I have seen several of the original landmarks in person on previous trips and I was really impressed by the level of detail and accuracy had when creating these replicas. I also think this park had a very good mind set as if those cannot afford to see some of the origin landmarks or monuments that they have a chance to at least see a smaller replica and be able to read information about the original.

Bad - The only bad thing I could say about Mini Siam is that if you have not had the chance to visit the original models then one wont be able to take in the cultural and experience it coming to Mini Siam. There is something so pure about seeing these beautiful landmarks and the smaller replicas are nice for the day but do not do the originals justice.

Overall, I would return to Mini Siam.
