Henry of Pelham Estate Winery

General Information

Henry of Pelham is a mid-sized boutique winery located on land in the Short Hills Bench that is ancestral to the winerys owners, the Speck family. In the 1980s brothers, Paul, Matthew and Daniel started the winery with their parents by restoring vineyards to the land that had been first planted in the early 19th century. Living by the credo Quality, Authenticity, Family, the brothers shovel planted, posting and wired their original 65-acre vineyard as children, and since these early days their operation has continued to flourish under their family supervision and labour. During the summer you can step in to their cool underground tasting bar to sample award winning wines. Upstairs in this original carriage house built by their great, great, great grandfather's son Henry in 1842, you will find a continually changing collection of Canadian art on display. From June through October well known Chef Erik Peacock takes the helm at The Coach House Cafe and Cheese Shoppe, focusing on Niagara and Short Hills Bench delights. With a menu that changes with the seasons, regular guests will feel the rhythm of life in Canadas culinary heartland.
