General Information

Enjoy a glass of finely crafted wine in Greenlane Estate Winery's wine lounge or out on their lovely patio on a beautiful day. Greenlane Estate Winey is dedicated to providing their customers with an enjoyable and memorable experience, whether you are looking to just drop in for a tasting or stay a while and enjoy the scenery.

Greenlane Estate Winery is situated in Canada's top wine producing region, the Niagara Peninsula. Greenlane has 22 acres of prime vineyard land, on which they grow their grapes. Diane Smith (winemaker) and her team put great care and attention into producing Greenlane's fine wines. From hand harvesting their grapes, to highlighting specific flavours and textures to produce unique taste profiles in their wines. Greenlane Estate Winery also offers a selection of wines made from their mature vines, dating back to 1990.

Among Greenlane Estate Winery's accomplishments is their first place win of the prestigious 2012 Cuvée Award for best Riesling and best White Wine in Ontario.

Greenlane Estate Winery has a variety of options available to visitors to ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone. Visitors can taste and purchase a variety of Greenlane's wines, shop around in their contemporary wine boutique or participate in a tour. Vineyard tours and private tastings are available at Greenlane Estate Winery by appointment (which can be made through their website). Greenlane also offers non-alcoholic beverage choices for younger visitors (under the age of 19) and Designated Drivers.

Greenlane Estate Winery has partnered with a number of Niagara's finest organizations and associations to improve and maximize consumer experience. Their partners include, The Wine Council of Ontario (WCO), Niagara's Twenty Valley, The Niagara Wine Festival and The Ontario Wine Society.

Greenlane Estate Winery is enthusiastic about promoting the local Niagara region and it's treasures. In their Wine Lounge, Greenlane showcases local Niagara artist's work, from paintings and wall decorations, to sculptures. Artwork is changed every month to help promote and showcase various local artists and their talents.

Take the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) West

Merge onto Queen Elizabeth Way/ON-403 West (20.8 km)

Stay left, continuing on Queen Elizabeth Way following signs for Niagara/East Hamilton/Fort Erie (35.8 km)

Take exit 64 for Ontario Street toward County Road 18/Beamsville (550 m)

Turn right (south) onto Ontario Street/Regional Road 18 (2.5 km)

Turn left (east) onto King Street/Regional Road 18 (5.5 km)

Continue to follow King Street, destination will be on the left. Look out for the winery sign and follow the short road to the parking lot outside the tasting/visitor center.

Take Garrison Road heading east (11.9 km)

Take the 2nd left onto Pettit Road/Regional Road 118 (1.9 km)

Merge onto Queen Elizabeth Way via the ramp to Toronto (27.1 km)

Take exit 32 for Thorold Stone Road/Regional Road 57 toward Thorold

Turn left onto Thorold Stone Road (5.5 km)

Continue onto ON-58 North (following signs for Thorold/Ontario 406) (3.1 km)

Keep left at the fork, following signs for ON-406 North/Saint Catharines and merge onto ON-406 North (11.2 km)

Keep left at the fork, following signs for Queen Elizabeth Way/Toronto and merge onto Queen Elizabeth Way (9.2 km)

Take exit 57 toward toward County Road 24/Victoria Avenue/Vineland (350 m)

Turn left onto North Service Road (signs for Queen Elizabeth Way) (200 m)

Turn left onto Victoria Avenue (4.1 km)

Turn right onto King Street (1.6 km)

Destination will be on the right. Look out for the winery sign and follow the short road to the parking lot outside the tasting/visitor center.

Historical

Greenlane Estate Winery is situated on the former property of the Wayne Gretzy Estate Winery. When Wayne Gretzy closed down, Greenlane took over their vineyards and property. Greenlane celebrated their grand re-opening at their new location in Vineland in July, 2013. They still have their former property and vineyards along the QEW, however, their tasting and show room is at their new location in Vineland.

Greenlane Estates Winery is committed to using environmentally sustainable vineyard practices to produce unique, flavourful wines. Diane Smith, Greenlane's winemaker is dedicated to producing wines with biodynamic and organic practices, complimenting and upholding the winery's dedication to environmental stewardship.
