Niagara Shores Park is a shoreline property that is sandwiched between Lakeshore Road in Niagara-on-the-Lake and Lake Ontario, just east of the mouth for the Four Mile Creek. This lakeshore area is heavily used for day use recreation. It's a great place to get access to the shoreline of Lake Ontario, and is popular with windsurfers. Three Mile Creek drains into a large pond on the west side of the property.
A gravel driveway bisects the property, leading to a parking lot located in the north central portion near the lake. Non-native/cultivated tree and shrub species are planted around the parking lot in a large mown lawn area. A small woodlot on the west side of the property extends from the parking lot to the pond's edge and westward.
Niagara Shores Park is owned by Parks Canada and maintained by the Parks & Recreation Department of the Town of Niagara on the Lake. The park provides open space and beach access but has no amenities.

This land was previously owned by the Department of National Defence and was used as an air force bombing practise range. It was also used for tank practise. It was then owned by the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority, and then ownership was transferred to Parks Canada (with management by the Parks and Recreation Department of the Town of Niagara on the Lake).
The woodlot is a composition of three forest regions: the Carolinian Forest, St. Lawrence - Great Lakes Transition Zone, and the Boreal Forest Zone. Species found in this woodlot are representative of each of the zones:
Understory and ground cover within the forest includes thick stands of Hawthorn, in addition to Alder, Choke Cherry, grape, raspberry, dogwood, dogbane, blueberry, trilliums, Jack-in-the-Pulpits and Mandrake.
