General Information

Mountainview Conservation Area is a 25 hectare (61 acre) rugged outcrop of protected land on the Lake Iroquois Bench or Beamsville Bench, with a stretch of the Bruce Trail passing through it. There is a good view of the land below the Niagara Escarpment, known as the Lake Iroquois Plain. At the edge of the plain is Lake Ontario and together they once formed part of the ancient glaciel Lake Iroquois. There are a variety of migratory birds, as well as different types of wildlife within this Carolinian forested environment which offers some rugged hiking.
