Renowned as the best vantage point in Ontario to observe the annual spring hawk migration, Beamer Memorial Conservation Area lookouts afford some of the most breathtaking and panoramic views of the Niagara Escarpment and Lake Ontario. In the spring watch for bald eagles, turkey vultures and other birds of prey soaring overhead. Stroll the scenic Lookout Trail and soak up the scenery from one of the many viewing platforms; you may even see the mist from Niagara Falls, way off to the east!

Bird watch or wander through this beautiful, upland hardwood forest festooned with native flowers in the spring. Along some of the trails look for witchhazel shrubs flowering in the autumn! Take breath-taking pictures of the Niagara Escarpment, Lake Ontario, and the upper and lower falls of the Forty Mile Creek Valley along established hiking trails. The Niagara Peninsula Hawkwatch raptor counters invite you to join them here annually from March 1 through May 15 to see the birds migrating overhead and to learn about these magnificent birds of prey.

Bring your binoculars on Good Friday for the annual Niagara Peninsula Hawkwatch Open House which has educational talks presented by Niagara Peninsula Hawkwatch members and a children's programme hosted by Niagara Nature Tours. Local field naturalist clubs have displays and handouts. There may be birdhouses and related paraphernalia for sale depending upon who has displays. Make a donation at the gate and put your name in for a draw.
