Howell Family Pumpkin Farm

General Information

It has been more than 30 years since a nine-year-old Jerry Howell filled a wheelbarrow with pumpkins harvested from his family farm in Fonthill, and sold them to passersby. Now the Howell Family Pumpkin Farm offers many activities for families to enjoy as well as having Niagara's largest selection of pumpkins, giant pumpkins and squash.

Each fall the Howell transform their farm into a Howlin' Halloween Theme Area. They have a three acre corn maze with puzzle search inside called Super Corny Cobb's Maze Adventure. There is also a 3,000 square foot haunted Spook Barn, a giant pumpkin eating dinosaur named Pumpkinosarus-Rex, scenic wagon rides, hay bale play areas, Nessy the robotic pumpkin monster, unique scarecrow displays, singing chickens, frogs and skeletons, amusing and educational animatronic displays, a Learning Centre, a straw jump for toddlers and a straw jump barn, a scenic nature walk, farm animal petting areas, bunnyville, rubber duck races, a pumpkin sling shot, Train-o-saurus Rex wagon ride, bucking cow train wagon ride, and a very interesting Goat Walk.

Their on-site market sells gourds, pumpkins, baked goods, BBQ, strawberry funnel cakes, pumpkin donuts, treats and refreshments.

The farm also sells strawberries from May to November which can also be found at a few local farmers markets. These strawberries are grown in unique vertical hydroponic planter containers.

Who knows what new exciting things the creative Howell family will add in the future, but we are sure to know that everyone will . . . "Have Fun at Howells!
