Shriner's Creek Kettle Popcorn

General Information

Pauline says her interest in this business came about the day she ate a mouthful of hot fragrant popcorn at Pioneer Day in Jordan. It was a sunny cool autumn day and the kid in her revelled in the delicious treat. It was shortly after that in 2002 that she and her husband Harold found themselves the owners of a tent, a few tables and a small popcorn kettle! Harold said, We were so excited our enthusiasm spread like wildfire. Our family and friends soon became involved including Pauline's eighty-one year old mom Cecile. The neighbours say "Meme" is the fastest bagger in town! Our sweet and salty popcorn quickly drew a loyal customer base and within three years we needed to expand. We purchased a concession trailer, added a larger kettle and watched our business explode.

We pop everywhere now: festivals, craft shows and events during the summer
months; 5 local Niagara farmers markets including the St. Catharines
Farmers' Market year-round on Thursdays and Saturdays. Upper Canada Cheese Company in Jordon Station has recently requested our products to add to their Niagara producer's product offerings. Our inventory is continually evolving. We added a fantastic Cheddar Cheese Popcorn simply by pouring melted cheddar onto our fresh popped corn while it was hot. The next flavour to be added to our stock came about one day at a tradeshow. We met a young chef who owned a spice company. He thought his blend of nine herbs and spices added to the cheese would work really well. Memphis Fire Popcorn was invented and has been a hit ever since. For people who are looking for a more traditional flavour we offer a Theatre style Buttery Salt flavour. Wholesale pricing is available to any retailer interested in adding our
popcorn to their product mix. Our fresh products that have no preservatives are available for school "fund-raising" Popcorn Days (similar to the Pizza Day concept), and as party favours for birthdays and so on.
