Traditional Six Nations Longhouse - Grand River - 1890s

On Stage Two you'll hear Stories from the Longhouse - First Nations Legends and Myths.

These original recordings are read by members of the Cayuga Nation, adapted from traditional oral legends that once were told by the Haudnausaunee people as lessons and as history.

These oral traditions were a way of showing how to live in Cayuga society.

The Cayuga Nation is part of the Six Nations Confederacy, and all the members of the Six Nations told similar stories.

You can also hear these legends spoken in the original Cayuga language, available on your mobile device.

Welcome to Stage Two of the Laura Secord Legacy Trail.

Stage Two runs between the north parking lot of Fireman's Park and Niagara College, for a distance of about 6 and a half kilometres, or approximately one and a quarter hours, for the average walker.

Stage Two begins at the Railway signal control box, immediately south of the railway crossing on Dorchester Road in Niagara Falls. The trail heads into the woods, immediately along side the signal control box. Watch for the Trail markers.
