Many people are familiar with the celebrated high-profile tourist attractions in Niagara Falls, but the city has a great deal more to offer in the form of sites for active and passive outdoor recreation. This guide profiles some of the best outdoor sites, many of which feature trails, splash pads, playgrounds and outdoor aquatic facilities.

Many of these locations also have significant and surprising historical roots that you might never expect given the innocent, playful appearance of the locations today.
