Sometimes
conventional tourism guides don't inform you about the full implications of
your travel choices. If a destination is listed in the 'top ten' or among the 'must
sees', it does not necessarily mean it is a good choice for a responsible
traveller. We believe that travellers should be allowed to make their own
decisions when it comes to where to go and what to visit, but we also believe
it is important to have as much information as possible on all aspects of the destination you are visiting.
This guide will be help you to make decisions about your travels throughout Pattaya and where you choose to spend your money and time. Through online research, personal trips, and observations, we have tried to identify the good and bad elements of the top ten attractions in Pattaya. Each place is unique and can provide visitors with cultural, religious, and adventurous experiences.
The places in on our list are Alcazar Cabaret, Art in Paradise, Buddha Hill, Floating Market, Jomtien Beach, Mini Siam, Nong Nooch Gardens, Sanctuary of Truth, Tiger Zoo, and Pattaya Walking Street. Our guide tries to provide some insights into the ethical dimensions of these operations. We also share our own personal experiences, both positive and negative, about each place.
Based on our observations, we have assigned one of three 'traffic light' rankings to each attraction: a green light means the attraction poses no significant ethical or sustainability challenges. A yellow light means that there are certain concerns which might be acceptable to visitors under certain conditions. A red light means that we have encountered significant ethical issues that we would urge tourists to reconsider before visiting the attraction.
