Burapha is a large university with over 40,000 students (2015). With this many students, a large library is needed for research. The Burapha Univeristy Library is located centrally on campus. On the first floor of the library is a small restaurant, called Cafe @ Library. Students who are spending long days on campus studying at the library have easy access to delicious and refreshing snacks and drinks.

General Information

Cafe @ Library is positioned at a prime location on the first floor of the large Library building. It has a lot of seating that can support approximately 200 people. At the entrance to the cafe where the hot foods get served by friendly staff. The food options readily available are:

  • Sausages/hotdogs
  • Chicken
  • Pork
  • Rice
  • Thai Green Curry
  • Vegetables
  • Eggs
  • Omelettes
  • Bamboo shutes

There are also frozen meals for purchase inside the cafe. These frozen meals consist of:

This cafe is perfect for someone who is looking for large choices of food with large choice of drinks and large choice of snacks and desert. The location of this restaurant in the central region of the campus makes it easily accessible to most students.

Environmental Considerations

The environmental significance of this restaurant is that they conserve electricity by not using air conditioning units to cool the air in the main sitting area of the restaurant. Instead fans are used. They also use natural lighting through much of the cafe and sitting area to conserve energy also.

When is the best time to go?

The hours of operation for the library are broken into sections based on the student population during that particular time of year. Please also note that the 1st Floor (Common Room) located out front of the cafe is open 24 hours and the library is closed on public holidays.

During Semester 1 and Semester 2

  • Daily 8am-10pm

1 week before the exam period, up until the last day of exams

  • Daily 8am-12pm

Summer

  • Monday- Friday 8am-8pm
  • Saturday & Sunday 8am-10pm

Semester Break

  • Monday- Friday 8am-4pm
  • Saturday & Sunday CLOSED
