General Information

The Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya is a breath of fresh air from the busy bustling streets of central Pattaya. Located on the western outskirts of Pattaya, it is in the perfect location for a relaxing day that takes the visitors on a spiritual journey to understanding the peaceful philosophy of Eastern living. The Sanctuary of Truth is famous for its brilliant architecture. It has been referred to as a wooden castle with the entirety of the structure carved with intricate detail. The building was designed to depict 'Thai ingenuity', with wooden carved sculptures that engulf the building. The purpose of the wood is to portray the "Ancient Vision of Earth, Ancient Knowledge, and Eastern Philosophy" (http://www.sanctuaryoftruth.com/history.php). The building dictates a magnificent story of eastern views with carved goddesses and mythological characters that tell stories of peaceful Eastern views. It is a gentle reminder to Western travellers that the occidental way of life is not the absolute way of living. Visitors experience first-hand the beauty in an Eastern perspective of life. This is sure to be an enlightening experience. The Sanctuary of Truth is a haven to allow visitors to "understand Ancient Life, Human Responsibility, Basic Thought, Cycle of living, Life Relationship with Universe and Common Goal of Life toward Utopia."

Personal Experience:

I very much enjoyed my trip to the Sanctuary of truth; I would recommend it to anyone. The details on the building are enough to make anyone interested and the spiritual aspect was very interesting. Inside the temple there were boards in both English and Thai that were very enlightening. The attitude and vibe in the temple were peaceful, the Sanctuary outlooks the water way which just adds to the atmosphere. The only negative when i went was the fact that it was under construction. This apparently happens often because it is hard to keep the wooden figurines together.
