McAdam House

General Information

"There is little known about this house, but we do know that it belonged to the Merritt family in the 1930s. It has undergone a meticulous restoration, and is one of the finer homes along the street with its lush garden and close attention to architectural detail." A Walking Tour of The Village of Jordan

The house is known on the street because of the Tangled Garden that sits to the side of the house where passersby can admire the seasonal blooms. The owners Alan McLean and John Valleau recently turned their hobby into a home business, setting out their shingle for The Fibre Garden in September 2009.

You can visit their homely shop, greeted by their friendly canine Miss Miss Rusty, and catch a glimpse of the historic home with shades of former spinning wheels that may have graced the room in the distant past. You will be rubbing shoulders with knitters and spinners that will be gently sorting through the hand dyed yarn that is calling to be turned into shawls and scarves.
