Built in the 1840s this home is over 160 years old. Originally the home of Peter VanDuser, a local fruit farmer, it is a fine example of the architechture of its period. Georgian architecture refers to the popular architectural styles between 1720 and 1840, named after the four British monarchs named George. Typically the Georgian severity of the house is modified by such Neo-Classical features as the front porch, upstairs verandah and deep bracketed eaves. Typically Georgian architecture is characterized by proportion and balance, which can both be seen in this home.
