Alvento Winery

General Information

Alvento means "at the wind" in Italian. Elyane Grenier and her husband Bruno Moos started in Tuscany and moved to this windy corner of Niagara West in 2001. They have founded this small winery with the aim of producing high-end wines. They make Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Nebbiolo and Viognier. Alvento Winery also produces a lovely balsamic vinegar, which would make a very special gift.

In an attempt to be as close to nature as possible, they do a lot of the vineyard work by hand.
