Locals and visitors alike flock down to the sandy shores to watch the sun setting into the horizon over Lake Ontario. The surroundings of this park make it an ideal area for sunset viewing and photography such as the lake, sand, rocks plenty of green space, a gazebo, park benches and various types of trees. This area is known to locals for its gorgeous colourful sunsets, that are at times so breathtaking that people rush down to the area at sunset, park their cars up along the grassy areas right along the beach to enjoy and soak in the spectacular views.
Although this area is known for its sunsets, it also has many other features including two beautiful beachfronts, a playground, picnic areas, walking trails, and parking. It is also home to "The Sunset Music Series" which offers free concerts weekly, every Tuesday night from July-August from 7:00 to 8:30pm. The Friends of Charles Daley Park is a volunteer organization which was formed in 2004 and is committed to revitalizing and promoting the park. In cooperation with the Niagara Restoration Council, native trees and shrubs have also been planted throughout the park. The Friends of Charles Daley have installed 21 commemorative benches throughout the park as well as replaced the outdated playground equipment in 2009.
