General Information

The Festival Theatre is a proscenium-arch theatre that seats 869 people. Each grand season debut is located in the Festival Theatre, every May. This theatre is the Shaw's flagship theatre in which it puts on its large scale shows. The building houses a Café and Bernard's, retail shop and an outdoor patio featuring lovely gardens.

- Turn right onto Glendale Ave/Regional Road 89 (200 m)

- Take the first left onto York Rd/Regional Road 81 (signs for Virgil/Niagara-on-the-Lake) (450 m)

- Take the first right onto Airport Rd (2.8 km)

Historical

The Festival Theatre was opened on June 20, 1973. Her majesty Queen Elizabeth II that did the official opening of the theatre. The new Festival Theatre allowed the Shaw Festival to organize large scale performances which brought national and international positive attention.
